We know that he was born in 1926 because he opened the Chamber 50 years prior to book 2, which takes place in 1992. He was in his fifth year when he opened the chamber, and he was born on New Years Eve. 15 years prior to 1942 (which is 50 years prior to 1992) is 1927, but as he was born on New Years Eve, this would place his birthday as December 31st, 1926. So as of the beginning of book 7, he was 70 (Book seven began summer of 1997). he is evil

Actually, Voldemort didn't die when he first attempted to murder Harry. It says in the books that he was barely alive. Also, in the eight movie, when Harry is talking to Dumbledore in King's Cross, the thing under the table is probably what Voldemort looked like after his first attempt to murder Harry.
