Welcome to Harry Potter Answers. What would you like to know?

Unfortunately, it is doubtful if this is even possible, as J.K. Rowling has never even once mentioned the existence of vampires in the Harry Potter universe. In fact, with presented evidence, or lack thereof, the possibility that this could happen is almost as great as the sixth book being re-published.

Actually, the above answer is incorrect. Very incorrect. Professor Quirrel said that he had an "encounter" with a vampire while in the Black Forest. Lockhart wrote a book about vampires. Honeydukes carried blood flavored lollipops for vampires. And we actually SEE a vampire named Sanguini at Professor Slug's Slug Club.

JK does never actually tell us the transformation process, because vampires are mentioned more in passing.
