Yes he did. He was killed in the 7th book (May 2 1998, possibly near 3:00 o'clock AM, The Shrieking Shack Hogsmead/Hogwarts The Battle of Hogwarts)by Lord Voldemorts snake Nagini. Voldemort ordered Nagini to kill Snape, because Voldemort believed that Snape was the master of the Elder wand, and that he would have to kill him in order to be the true master of the Elder wand. Actually Snape wasn't the true master, and Voldemort could have used a much simpler way. It is enough to disarm the master of the Elder wand. Voldemort believed that Snape was the true master of the Elder wand, because it was Snape who killed Albus Dumbledore (the latest master of the Elder wand), but first of all it was Draco Malfoy, who disarmed Dumbledore, and second of all Albus Dumbledores death was planned between Snape and Dumbledore, so Snape wouldn't become the master of the Elder wand anyway. Draco Malfoy was disarmed by Harry Potter during the Skirmish of Malfoy Manor, and so Harry in the end became the true master of the elder wand. This was also what saved Harrys life, when the Elder wand refused to kill its true master.
